Terms of Service
These are the rules for using Arbor Lane. We've tried to write them in plain English. They're a contract — your sign-up is your agreement — and we'll let you know when they change in a way that matters.
Agreement
By signing up for an Arbor Lane account, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you're signing up on behalf of an organization (an HOA, a property management firm, or another entity), you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
The service
Arbor Lane is a software-as-a-service platform for HOAs and property managers. It includes the web application at arborlane.app and our mobile applications. We may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves. Material changes that reduce functionality you depend on will be announced in advance.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account information accurate, your password secure, and the activity on your account legitimate. You may not share your account with another person. If you believe your account has been compromised, email legal@arborlane.app immediately.
Acceptable use
Don't use Arbor Lane to break the law, infringe on anyone's intellectual property, harass other users, send spam, attempt to access data that isn't yours, reverse-engineer the platform, or do anything that interferes with the service for others. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules; serious violations may result in termination without refund.
Payment
We bill subscriptions through Stripe at the rates published on our pricing page. Billing is monthly; we don't currently offer annual contracts in V1. We offer a 30-day grace period on failed payments before the account is suspended for non-payment. Stripe Connect handles HOA dues collection separately — see the operator-side billing documentation for that flow.
Your content
You own the content you submit to Arbor Lane — your community's documents, the announcements you post, the tickets you file, the responses you give to forms, the signatures you make. You grant us the rights we need to operate the service on your behalf: to store your content, render it to other authorized users, route notifications, and run the product as designed. We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't use it to train AI models.
Our content
The Arbor Lane platform, including the name, design, code, and documentation, is our intellectual property. You may use it for its intended purpose as a paying customer; you may not copy, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from it.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account, with a 30-day grace period during which you can restore it. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination, your data is removed per our Privacy Policy data-retention section, except e-signature records and audit logs which are retained for seven years.
Disclaimers
Arbor Lane is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep the service running and to make it good, but we don't guarantee it will always work, that it's bug-free, or that it will meet every need you have. We disclaim implied warranties to the extent allowed by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to Arbor Lane is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally goes to court in Ottawa County, Michigan. Before filing, both sides agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute by email or phone for 30 days.
Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as the product evolves. When the change is material — anything that affects your rights, our obligations, or how the service works in a substantive way — we'll ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Minor changes (typos, clarifications) just bump the "Last updated" date below.
